A New Day

This week’s Bible Verse: Isaiah 58:11 'The LORD will guide you continually, giving you water when you are dry and restoring your strength.' - It’s a new day and it’s a day in which God wants to guide you. - He is continually ready to lead and guide each one of is. - He knows your needs and He knows how to meet them. - He wants to come and restore your strength each day. PRAYER: Lord, You are my guide. I choose to follow You. Guide me today and in the weeks that lie ahead so that I will walk in Your perfect will for my life. Amen. John Bailie

Strength

This week’s Bible verse: Psalm 84:5 'Blessed are those who find strength in you. Their hearts are on the road [that leads to you].' - Do you need strength today? - The Lord wants to be your strength. - Find your strength in HIM and not in other things. - Let Him come and empower and enable you right now. PRAYER: Lord, I receive Your strength into my life and body today. I will not try to do things in my own strength, but I take hold of the strength You offer me. Amen.

Peace

This week’s Bible reading: Romans 8:5-7 Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. - Most of us want to live a life of peace - Paul says we constantly at ‘war’ with ourselves - We live in the world but are encouraged to live by the Spirit - If we want to live in peace, all we need to do is to submit to the will of God Prayer: Lord I submit to Your will and receive the peace Your Word promises. Amen.

Secret and Hidden Wisdom

This week’s Bible Reading: 1 Corinthians 2: 6-7 Yet among the mature we do impart wisdom, although it is not a wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are doomed to pass away. But we impart a secret and hidden wisdom of God, which God decreed before the ages for our glory. - Christian maturity has to do with growth of the individual - Individual growth happens over time - Time holds the secret and hidden wisdom of God - Therefore, we need to take time to grow into the things of God Prayer: Lord please grant me the patience and fortitude to grow into Your everlasting wisdom. May it feed my everyday living and interaction with others. Amen.

More than Conquerors

This week’s Bible Verse: Proverbs 2:7-8 'He holds victory in store for the upright, He is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, for He guards the course of the just and protects the way of His faithful ones' - The Lord has victory in store for you. - He wants you to be an over-comer and to be more than a conqueror. - He will lead you and guide you. - As His faithful child you can rest assured you have a faithful Father. PRAYER: Lord, I commit this new week and the new month that lies ahead into your hands. Lead me and guide me and protect me I pray. Amen

Wait on the Lord

This week’s Bible verse: Hebrews 6:13-15 When God made his promise to Abraham, since there was no one greater for him to swear by, he swore by himself, saying, "I will surely bless you and give you many descendants." And so after waiting patiently, Abraham received what was promised. - No one can make promises like God - His promises are sworn by Himself - His promises therefore are deep and rich with the purpose of growing us - All we need to do is be patient and wait on Him Prayer: Lord God, thank you for your promises. Please help me to be patient as I wait on You. Amen

Going It Alone

This week’s Bible verse: : Isaiah 17:10 'You have forgotten God your Saviour; you have not remembered the Rock, your fortress.' - Sometimes we think we can just do it alone. - We think we have enough strength within ourselves to handle things. - But soon we discover that we are destitute without God. - The Bible tells us that we should ‘remember our creator’! PRAYER: Lord, forgive me for thinking that I can do everything by myself. I need You Lord in my life. You are my God, my Saviour, my Rock and my Fortress. Amen.
