The Church

At North Rand, we are busy with our annual three week stewardship series.

Second week:

God calls us, the church, to be part of his plan to change and transform the world.

Awesome!

But this can seem like a Goliath for most of us.

David used five stones to defeat Goliath.

So perhaps what we need is five stones:

Stone 1: Faith – believing that God exists ( Hebrews 11:3)

Stone 2: Salvation – understanding that we live as fallen people in a fallen world and need to be saved (Ephesians 2:8-10)

Three more stones to follow next week!

Being diagnosed with prostrate cancer last week and attending your sermon on Sunday really had me thinking about faith. We all have some kind of faith but naturally when times get tough as they are, we turn to God for guidance. Its always amazing that when things are good we tend to only attend church now and again. (yes I am one of the guilty ones) As it is a major decision time in my life your 'faith stones' have a significant impact on my life and witn Gods guidance I am positive that I will make the right decision in the next weeks as to my and my family's future. These inspirations allow me to have a positive outlook and irrespective of the outcome I learn each day that I will be safe if I have the faith.

Thanks for the comment.

Yep, faith is powerful especially when we need it most.

Here's a cool quote by Edith Hamilton:

Faith is not belief. Belief is passive. Faith is active.

We are praying for you, Karen and the family.
